ABOUT RAINBOW DECOR
Rainbow Decor is a long-established, family-run painting and decorating business based in Wishaw, North Lanarkshire. Established in 1988, the business provides professional interior and exterior painting, wallpapering, specialist wall coverings, hand-painted murals, wallpaper murals and commercial decorating.
Today, Rainbow Decor is run by Tommy Irwin Jnr., continuing a family connection with the painting and decorating trade that stretches back decades. With extensive hands-on experience and a background working with several companies in different countries, Tommy brings traditional trade knowledge and specialist decorative skills to projects throughout Wishaw, Lanarkshire and surrounding areas.
The Story... so far.
Started by Tommy Irwin Snr. a painter & decorator since 1956, on 8/8/88 in Wishaw, North Lanarkshire.
Due to ill health Tommy retired in 2006 leaving the running of Rainbow Decor to his son, also Tommy.
Tommy Jnr. started his apprenticeship straight out of school and has been providing a second-to-none level of service for 40 years and counting.
He did not serve his apprenticeship with Rainbow Decor as his father wanted him to learn the trade 'the hard way' and has worked with several companies in several countries before taking over the helm.
He started painting commissioned murals and advertising boards in 1982 at the age of 12 after being approached by a local bookmakers to paint two 5' x 4' advertising boards for there shop for which he received the grand sum of £50. which was a lot of money for a 12 year old in those days.
